WWII US 10th ARMY MEDICAL UNIFORM
This is a US Army uniform. The soldier belonged to the 10th Army. He was a
Private first class. of gabardine construction. With four pockets and golden
metal buttons. This uniform was issued for wear during WWII.
The pockets were secured shut via the use of buttons. The buttons would remain
visible once the flap was closed.
A label is found in the inside of the pocket. This uniform was manufactured in
1942. Many uniforms are missing the tag or it has become impossible to read due
to the number of times the uniform has been washed.
The tag contains a wealth of information for the collector. It contains data
such as the date of manufacture, the manufacturer's name, the contract number, etc.
The following photo shows the medical disc on the collar. The soldier was issued
to set of ribbons. The bottom set is covered in plastic. This was a common
practice for the period.
A cut-edge 10th Army patch is sewn to the sleeve. The 10th Army was activated in
November 1944. The headqurters were located in Schafield barracks, Hawaii.
