WWII US AAF Thunderbird Airfield Scottsdale Patch -
This is a US World War Two patch. It was issued to personnel who worked at the Thunderbird airfield
in Scottsdale, Arizona. Much of the training of pilots occurred in air bases like this one.
There was also a similar design patch of different color that was issued to personnel who worked
at the Glendale, Arizona branch of Thunderbird. Today there is a school of international business
running at the Glendale location. The remnants of the runway are still somehow visible.
The patch consists of a circle with a red perimeter. A Thunderbird is placed in the center. Brown backrgound.
