Vietnam War US Bronze Medal with Case -
This is the US Army Bronze medal. As issued during the Vietnam war. Complete with thr case.
The exmaple shown here comes with the issue box, cardboard box, cardboard sleeve, medal award document,
service recognition document, photograph of the commanding officer issuing the award to the soldier and the Bronze Satr itself.
A very nice and complete set. Hard to find. The name of the soldier is hand-written on top of the cardboard box.
Part of the grouping also includes a list of the different soldiers who earned the Bronze Star. The document is dated January 16
1973. It was issued by the department of the army under General Order number 30. It was signed by Brigadier General
Stan L, McClellan. Chief of Staff of the US Army.
The construction of the Bronze star is stitched back which was actually produced during WWII. It was not uncommon for
medals of that time frame to be issued during the 1960's and 1970's.

The Bronze Star citation states that the medal was issued for "Meritorious achievement in ground operations against
hostile forces in the Republic of Vietnam - February 1972 to February 1973. It was awrded on January 16th 1973 and
signed by Fred C Weyand, General, US Army.
Along with the ciatation is a service recognition document. A colorful design which includes the the Corps eagle and
a Vietnam patch. A scroll in the center reads "US Army Depot Long-Binh Vietnam".
The rest of the service document reads "Be it known to all men that Kenneth Wills Transport is an honorary member of
the US Army depot Long-Binh Vietnam and entitles him to the following privileges:
A reservation at the fabulous holiday inn east. escorted scenic hike along the bunkerline trail. A jeep excursion
of a textbook PDO yard. A panoramic view from the lofty slopes of Mt. Izzey. an invigorating rest in the cold storage
repository. Unlimited access to the dew house. Honorary title of warehouseman number ten in the worlds largest army
depot.
A piece of foam is issued with each medal. This protects the face of the medal against damage from rubbing.
