US Army 1st Cavalry Patch - LRRP -
This is a 1st Cavalry patch. As used by the US Army during the Vietnam war. Several versions of this patch were produced.
Long Range Reconnaissance Patrols, or LRRPs (pronounced "lurp"), were special small four to six-man teams utilized in the Vietnam War on highly dangerous special operations missions deep into enemy territory.
A black stripe crosses the patch in a diagonal direction. The letters LRRP are written across the
stripe. This indicated Long Range Recognisence Patrol. The special forces in vietnam performed
this duty.
