US WWII CZECH LIBERATION GROUPING - LETTER -
This letter was sent by a grateful Czechoslovakian citizen as a way to thank Captain Emeis for his participation in the war. The book being referenced in the letter is featured on the previous page. The envelope and wrapping used to send the book is still intact and are a part of the grouping.

The United States was so popular that people formed "frieds of the USA" clubs as stated in the letter. It makes you wonder how long the clubs lasted.

Another interesting part of the letter is that it briefly mentions the current situation in the country with respect to the Russian forces. Czechoslovakia was at the point of turning communist.

The following postcard was printed to commemorate the liberation of the town. A Sherman tank and a jeep are shown rolling down the streets of the town as people greeted them with food and flowers. This type of scenes were very common as the allied troops freed up town after town from the German armed forces.
