WWII US Army Officer's Field Desk -
This is a US Army field desk. As issued during World War two. Used by US Army Officer's. The desk is of wooden construction with metal brackets and re-inforcements. Multiple drawers and compartments allowed the user to separate paperwork effectivelly. OD color. Three metal snaps secured the lid in the closed position. The center snap had the ability to be locked with a key.

The desk was designed to sit on top of a table. The entire structure folded onto itself for ease of transportation. Communication equipment could also be rested on the desk. Items like the EE8 field phone .

The above photograph reveals the drawer and compartments found in the desk. The lid flipped into a writting or work surface. The wood employed was a combination of pine and plywood. some of the outer shell was lined with metal.

The approximate measures of the WWII US field desk are 20"x19". The desk was fairly heavy. Hovering between 30 to 40 pounds.
