WWII BRITISH ARMY DISPATCHER HELMET -
This is a WWII british motorcycle dispatch helmet. As used by the runners to carry messages. Of Metal construction, oval
shape. The original paint remains on this sample.
This was the first war where motorcycles were used extensively to deliver messages. The look of the helmet
is very classic. This fact makes it a more desirable military antique than other British helmets.
The helmets were not produced in large amounts since there were only issued to the runners.
The liner is secured to the body of the helmet via the use of rivets. Leather is employed to line the suspension.
An additional leather flap is added to provide additional protection to the neck. Canvis straps are laced
together with a shoe string to provide the height of the helmet.
