This is an RH 29 fighting/hunting knife. As used during WWII. A part of the RH knife series produced by the
PAL/Remington company. These knives were very popular due to their quality, rugedness and appearance.
Even though this was not technically a military knife, many armed forces personnel bought and used this blades
in the battlefields.
The design of the RH29 knife consists of a round, aluminum pommel. The handle was made of black plastic/rubber.
This was a departure from the traditional leather handle that was employed in most of the RH series. The handle
displays a pattern. Inside of the pattern reside a checkered format and the name "Remington, UMC".
The crossguard is almost non-existent. The blade is of single edge and has the nomenclature RH29, 5 1/4" stamped
on one side. A leather scabbard was provided with the knife. The scabbard has a strap with silver snaps that
wrap around the handle and hold it in place.
