This is an RH 32 hunting/general purpose knife. As used during the 1940's. This knife is part of the RH series
which was put out by the Remington/PAL companies. Although the knives were produced for the civilian market,
many soldiers purchased them and took them into combat.
One of the most notable characteristics of this knife is the upwardly shaped blade. Thick and wide in design. The
base was marked with the RH 32 and logo characters. Of single edge construction.
The scabbard featured here is well worn. The original light brown color has been faded. The sides are secured
via the use of rivets and heavy duty thread. Two slits are applied to create a belt loop. This permits the knife
to be carried on the belt. The upper section of the scabbard has a strap with a metal snap. This feature wraps
around the handle and keeps the knife from coming off the scabbard.
