WWII GERMAN ANTI-PARTISAN BADGE ANATOMY -

On January 30th, 1944 it was decided to institute a badge to recognize German forces who played a role in fighting the Partisans. Hence the birth of the Anti-Partisan badge. Personnel who earned this award fought guerrilla type forces in some of the areas conquered by the Germans.





The back of this anti-partisan badge is hollowed. Some other examples may be solid. The pin is needle type. Close ups of the hinge and catch are shown here.



The following photo shows the different components of the Anti-Partisan badge. It is important to note that the real badge does not come apart. It is manufactured as a single piece. The grpahic is simply a representation of all the components that make up the badge.
