The Auxiliary Cruiser badge is a single piece badge. The back of this sample shows some guilding. The top of the badge has a hinge. The opposite side has a catch. Both pieces are soldered directly to the main body. Some of the badges were stamped with the manufacturer's name. Not all badges had this characteristic.
