WWII GERMAN TANK DESTROYER ANATOMY -

The Tank Destroyer sleeve insignia was awarded to individuals who single handed destroyed a tank using infantry weapons. The award was sewn to the arm of the uniform. There were two types of Tank Destroyer awards issued; Silver and gold.





The tank destroyer award consists of three components. A metal plate with the image of a tank is the front part.

The ribbon is gold in color and has black stripes sewn to the top and bottom sections.

The back of the front plate has two metal prongs that are bent in place to secure the plate to the rest of the components.
