WWII GERMAN DVG IDENTIFICATION PIN -
Hitler's Germany employed various means to keep control on people and their movement. A multitude
of identification papers, cards and pins were created. The DVG pin was issued to residents of the
Westmark region. Wearing the pin identified the person as living in that area.
This is a German DVG membership pin. As issued during WWII. The design of the badge consists of a
circular shape with enamel finish. Two circles, one inside the other, where the outer circle is
black and has silver letters that spell the words "DVG Westmark (Lothr)". The inner circle is
white and displays a red swastika.
The back has a pin attached to a center point. The words Ges Gesch are displayed in the top portion
while the manufacturer's name appears in the lower section (Marlautern).
