WWII GERMAN POLICE LONG SERVICE MEDAL -
The German police force was a paramilitary organization during Hitler's Third Reich. Outside of providing
protection they also kept track of any groups who opposed Hitler. As the war came to an end, the police
was mobilized to provide the last line of defense against invading forces.

The design of the medal consists of a dark blue ribbon attached to a metal cross. A large oval wreath is
palced at the center. A police eagle with extended wings is found inside the wreath. the eagle is
clutching a smaller circular wreath that has a swastika in the center.

The back of the medal reads "Fur Treue Dienste In Der Polizei", which translates to "For loyalty of
service in the police".

Reichsministerium des innem). This was a new position whose goal was to unify all the different police departments into
