The item featured here is a WWII German Luftwaffe tropical eagle. The design consists of an eagle in
flight. The wings are fully extended. The head is facing forward. The eagle is clutching a swastika
with a single claw while holding the other claw up in the air. Very nice detailing to the plumeage and head.
Of Aluminum
construction with a large brass
pin hinged in the back to one of the wings.
The hinging mechanism us built in to the wing. The opposite side has a catch the secures the pin in

The eagle is secured to the breast area of the tropical tunic by driving the pin through
a series of loops (two or more) that are sewn to the jacket. This eagle is generally associated
with the troops of the Afrika Korps.
