THE WWII GERMAN WAR MERIT CROSS - The war merit cross was a civilian award issued to the general population in Germany during WWII. The award was given to individuals who contributed to the war effort. There are two basic formats for the award.

  1. Issued for indirect assistance to the war effort
  2. Issued for helping directly with the war effort.
