WWII GERMAN LUFTWAFFE FLYING PERSONNEL PATCH -
The Luftwaffe was one of the most modern, powerful, and experienced air forces in the world, dominating the skies over Europe with aircraft much more advanced than their foreign counterparts. The Luftwaffe was central to the German Blitzkrieg (lightning war) doctrine, as the close air support provided by various medium two-engine bombers, Stuka dive bombers and an overwhelming force of tactical fighters were key to several early successes. The development of new technologies requires specialized training for the soldiers. New types of jobs were created to manage and apply the advancements.

The German Air Force had a series of jobs, other than pilot, who were related to flying or the support of flight. A patch was created to identify the work performed by these individuals.

The designed of the Luftwaffe Flying Personnel patch consisted of an irregular elongated design. Of field gray construction. A set of wings with a propellor pointing up and down in the center. The design is embroidered with white thread.
