WWII German Stickpin - NSDAP 15 Year Service Award -
This is a German WWII stick pin. These items were issued to military, civilian and political individuals for various reasons.
In the case of military personnel, a stickpin was given along with a full size award. The soldier could wear the stick pin
instead of having to sport the full size badge.

The service award for the NSDAP
was established by Hitler on April 2nd 1939. It was awarded
to any member of the party. It was meant to be worn on the uniform when holding an honorary
appointment or when active in a special unit. The pin reflected loyalty to the party.
The award came in three classes; 10 (bronze), 15 (silver)
and 25 (gold) years.
The award was given for distinguished service or by the recommendation from administrative
personnel. A person who earned more than one award was allowed to wear the highest class
along with the lower ones. Female personnel could wear it as a neck award.

The design of the stickpin consisted of a cross with slightly curved arms. The center has
a wreath of oakleaves with an eagle in the center. The eagle has the wings spread and the
head facing to the right. It is cluthing a wreath with a swastika in the middle. Very nice
enameling.
The back of the stick pin has an RZM marking
that reads RZM M11/1. This data denotes the
manufacturer .
The pin is attached to a metal cirlce
which is then secured to the main body.
