German factories during WWII were often targeted by allied air raids. Defending the factories was an essential component of the Nazi regime.
The defense force was manned by paramilitary organizations. These were civilian personnel that had received military training. In
many cases they were also workers at the factory.
The pin depicted here was given to personnel who participated in the defense of the factories. The design consists of an
aggressive looking eagle perched on top of a building, while clutching a swatika. The sample here is numbered.
These type of pins were worn during social occassions and during work.
