WWII German Stickpin - Factory Air Defense (1935-1945) -
German factories during WWII were often targeted by allied air raids. Defending the factories
was an essential component of the Nazi regime. The defense force was manned by paramilitary
organizations. These were civilian personnel that had received military training. In
many cases they were also workers at the factory.
The pin depicted here was given to personnel who participated in the defense of the factories.
The design consists of an aggressive looking eagle perched on top of a building. Its
wings are partially extended. The head is facing to the left. Very nice detailing to
the head, beak and plumeage of the eagle. The building has a swatika in the front. All
metal construction.
The sample here has the number 1354 stamped on the back. This is probably an issue number.
There are no
manufacturing logos.
Not all stickpins were marked.
These type of pins were worn during social occassions and during work as a sign of pride.
