that provided city services had to adopt the swaqstika as a
symbol of solidarity with the Nazi party. The post office was not an exception.
This is a German WWII Post Office flag. Multiple piece construction. Heavy duty
cotton.
The white oval and black swastika are one piece. The name of the town is found in a large
black square on the corner of the flag. This sample shows wear.
The flag has several holes and a couple of tears. These type of flags are hard to find
because not that many were produced and most of them were destroyed.
The black corner section has a white border around it. The following sentence is
written in white gothic letters: FACHSCHAFT REICHSPOST ORTSFACHGRUPPE APOLDA, which
translates to "Trade Association Realm Post Ofifce Local Specialized Group Apolda".
The image of a gold color horn is placed below the sentence.

All civilian services during the Third Reich were affiliated to the Nazi party. The design of their equipment
displayed the swastika with the black, white and red colors. The postal service was no exception. The flag
was had a heavy duty construction because it was meant to be exposed to the elements.
