The handle of the sword is wire wrapped with a silver colored strand of wire. The brand of the manufacturer of the sword can be seen at the base of the blade, above the hand guard.
The scabbard came equipped with a ring that allowed the sword to be carried by the soldier's belt. A square bracket was also fitted so that straps could be employed to secure the sword as well. Notice the screw at the top of the neck of the scabbard, this was employed to attach the hand guards to the scabbard.
The tip of the scabbard was rounded and thin. In contrast, the tip of the blade is very sharp.
