WWII GERMAN DOCUMENTATION - SPORTS AWARD BOOK AND DRL BADGE
This is one of the documents employed by Germany during WWII. This is a very interesting grouping because it
contains the award document as well as the DRL badge.
The document consists of a white, plain cover. The figure of the sports badge is lightly embossed on the center
of the cover. Very nicely done.
The document contains the photo of the person who received the award. Several hand-written entries are made.
Drawings of the badge adorn the pages. Signatures and stamps can be found throughout the entire document.
This page is a recognition and identification guide for WWII German collectibles. Multiple
detailed photos of a specific sample are provided. Descriptions point out clearly defined points
that should be noted.
One of the most commonly asked questions is "How much is my WWII German paper items worth?". A price
guide is included here to address this question. The value of the collectibles is reviewed
over a period of several years. A trend can be observed. The present worth of the German
propaganda posters in the collector's market is illustrated.

This picture shows the front of the badge. Of metal construction. Oval shape wreath with the letters DRL
written in gothic. A swastika is placed at the bottom of the badge. There were three different types of types of
DRL badges that could be awarded; bronze, silver and gold. The same document was used to award all three types.
A special designation would indicate which badge was won.
The back of the badge has a vertical pin. Used to affix the badge to the uniform. The manufacturer's markings
can be seen to one side. In this case it was manufactured by Wernstein Jena.
Many German documents and paperwork are currently being
reproduced.
It is becoming more difficult to
be able to tell the fake ones from the real ones because the quality of the reproductions is improving.
The collector must become familiarized with the construction style and materials employed in the
manufacturing of the items. Attention to the details is critical in order to be able to determine
the authenticity of the German paper collectibles.
