GERMAN POST WWII MILITARY ITEMS The entire German armed forces had to be rebuilt after the Third Reich failed in WWII. Much of the equipment employed by the new armed forces borrowed its designed from the WWII predecessors. The same fact remained true for the East German armed forces.

This section of the site gives a pictorial history of such equipment.

West Germany is the common English name for the Federal Republic of Germany or FRG, Bundesrepublik Deutschland, in the period between its creation in May 1949.
