The ribbon id composed of a series of vertical lines which contain different colors. The ribbon attaches to a wreath at the
top of one of the arms. The medal itself is in the shape of a Maltese cross. The words "Damh-Du Boi-Tinw" are written in the
upper section. The name of the country is written in the bottom section.
The back of the medal is plain. Two large metal spikes are used to secure the medal to the uniform.
The edge weapons from many countries are currently being
reproduced.
It is becoming more difficult to be able to tell the fake ones from the real ones because
the quality of the reproductions are improving. The collector must become familiarized with
the construction style and materials employed in the manufacturing of these medals.
Attention to the details is critical in order to be able to determine the authenticity of
the collectible.
