NORTH VIETNAMESE REGULAR ARMY BELT

This is a utility field belt used by the North Vietnamese regular army during the 1960's and 1970's. The belt is made of canvis and has a very firm body. Several aluminum gromets are placed along the length in pairs. The name of a person has been written on the inside section of the belt with red paint.

A brass buckle is placed at one end and a mtching hook is placed on the other. The buckle is of rectangular shape and bears a five point star in relief.

US headgear in general is currently being reproduced. It is becoming more difficult to be able to tell the fake ones from the real ones because the quality of the reproductions is improving. The collector must become familiarized with the construction style and materials employed in the manufacturing of this headgear. Attention to the details is critical in order to be able to determine the authenticity of the collectible.
