This is a British made mess kit pouch. It was used during WWII. It was attached to the
haversack
pack. Its purpose was to hold the mess kit and utensils.
Of khaki color canvis. The edges are enforced with heavy duty cotton. The inside of the main flap is stamped with the words;
US British Made. This is an interesting aspect because this is one of the items that was manufactured by the British during the
war for distribution to the Americans.
The edge weapons from many countries are currently being
reproduced.
It is becoming more difficult to be able to tell the fake ones from the real ones because
the quality of the reproductions are improving. The collector must become familiarized with
the construction style and materials employed in the manufacturing of these medals.
Attention to the details is critical in order to be able to determine the authenticity of
the collectible.
