This is a British gas mask. As issued to soldiers during WWII. The design of the mask is very standard. The main body is made of
black rubber with a series of elastic bands in the rear that secure the mask in place. Two clear lenses are placed in the front.
The filter screws in place in the nose area.
The back of the mask has a squre canvis section that has a number 4 stamped in red ink. In addition, black ink writing is
found which reads: No.4 MK.2 RL 10-52 PR 56.
The mask comes with a green canvis carrying case which has a khaki shoulder strap attached to the sides. The inside of the main
flap reads" Light II H&S 10/44 CF.
A cloth is added to clean up the lenses.
The edge weapons from many countries are currently being
reproduced.
It is becoming more difficult to be able to tell the fake ones from the real ones because
the quality of the reproductions are improving. The collector must become familiarized with
the construction style and materials employed in the manufacturing of these medals.
Attention to the details is critical in order to be able to determine the authenticity of
the collectible.
