The handle is made of wood. Two deep rivets secure the handle. The pommel is of metal construction. The release mechanism is
located to one side of it. the cross guard is very small. The muzzle ring is located on one of its sides. A serial number is
stamped on the top of the pommel.
The scabbard is of metal construction. Painted a light green color.
The blade is of single edge construction. The tip has a slight flair up similar to what you see in Bolo bayonets. A thick blood
groove extends nearly the length of the balde.
The edge weapons from many countries are currently being
reproduced.
It is becoming more difficult to be able to tell the fake ones from the real ones because
the quality of the reproductions are improving. The collector must become familiarized with
the construction style and materials employed in the manufacturing of these medals.
Attention to the details is critical in order to be able to determine the authenticity of
the collectible.
