This is the Vietnamese Civil Actions Medal. Consisting of an eight pointed gold star. The center bears
the image of a child, a soldier and a farmer with a shovel.
The medal was issued in three different grades. The primary difference between the classes is the ribbon.
- First Class:
Issued to officers. Ribbon is green, red, green. with two thin red stripes in center.
- Second Class:
Issued to NCO's and enlisted men. Ribbon is same as above without thin red stripes.
- Unit Award:
Issued primarily to american forces in Vietnam. Ribbon is same as 1st class.

Vietnamese medals in general are not currently being
reproduced.
However, military reproductions are becoming more widely available.
It is becoming more difficult to be able to tell the fake ones from the real ones because
the quality of the reproductions is improving. The collector must become familiarized with
the construction style and materials employed in the manufacturing of these medals.
Attention to the details is critical in order to be able to determine the authenticity of
the collectible.
