WWII US 5th ARMY IKE JACKET UNIFORM


This is a US 5th Army uniform. Wool construction. Retains the original tags. Of two pocket construction. With brown plastic buttons. The 5th Army patch has been sewn to the sleeve of the jacket. The rank and Technician designation are also sewn to the sleeves. An interesting fact about this uniform is the style of stiching usd to secure the patches.











The 5th Army was activated on December of 1942. It was headquartered in Oujda, Morocco under the command of General Mark Clark.
The first combat mission executed by this division was the invasion of Salermo in Italy. The 5th Army fought for a total of 604 days during WWII.
