US AIR FORCE L-2B FLIGHT JACKET - VIETNAM WAR -

clothing to save them from the elements caused by flying in an exposed cockpit. This was the birth of
the flight jacket and flight suits.

This is a US Air Force L-2B flight jacket. Of nylon construction. Dated 1970. As used during
the Vietnam war. The metal rank is placed on the shoulders and is covered by plastic.
Complete with Arizona National Guard patches.
The tag is white with white letters. The name tag is of leather construction. Black color
with silver lettering. Also has the pilot wings.

The patches of the jacket are all in full color. One of them is for the "Military
Airlift Command". The name tag for the pilot is shown on these pictured. Another
patch is placed on the sleeve, it is for the "Arizona Air Guard - Copperheads".
It is of very colorfult design. It shows a cowboy holding a branding iron with the
shape of the map of Arizona at the end.
The zipper is of aluminum construction and has a leather pull-tab attached to it.
