CIVIL/SPANISH AMERICAN WAR US ARMY INSIGNIA - The US Army used several styles of collar and Hat insignia. The design used during the Spanish American war was very much the same as that employed during the Civil war. Many of the insignia have proven to be so timeless that the basic representation remains in use today. The following is a compilation of some of the insignia.

US CIVIL WAR AND SPANISH AMERICAN WAR MEDALS


SPANISH AMERICAN WAR VETERAN MEDAL - This is a medal that was issued to veteran's of the Spanish American war. Complete with a ribbon which shows the American flag.

SPANISH AMERICAN VETERAN NUMBERED MEDAL - This is the medal that was issued to veterans of the Spanish American war. Complete with American flag ribbon. The back of the eagle is numbered.

SPANISH AMERICAN US NATIONAL AUXILIARY WAR VETERAN MEDAL - Two piece construction where the top piece is attached to the bottom by a chain. The back has a three color ribbon.

US SPANAM NAVAL VETERAN MEDAL - Consisting of an eagle cluthing a crossed cannon and anchor. A ribbon with the appearance of an American flag is attached to the back.



SPANAM WAR 40TH NATIONAL ENCAMPMENT MEDAL - This is a medal that was issued to individuals who attended the encampment event. Dated September of 1938.

SPANAM VETERAN'S PIN - All metal construction with the top displaying a crossed rifle and sword imposed over a canon. The lower section is a wreath with a cross at the center.

1899 CALIFORNIA NATIONAL GUARD SHOOTING AWARD - Of Sterling construction. This award was issued by the state of California to National Guard members who placed in a shooting competition.

SPANAM VETERAN'S NUMBERED MEDAL - This medal was issued to individuals who served during the Spanish American war. Of multi-piece construction. Thew ribbon looks like the American flag.



SPANISH AMERICAN WAR RECOGNITION AWARD - Of metal construction. The top piece consists of a set of crossed rifle and sword. The lower piece is in the shape of a cross.

SPANAM VETERAN'S STICKPIN - Of metal construction. Consisting of the shape of a small cross. Manufacturer marked in back.

SPANAM WAR VETERAN LAPEL PIN - This is a metal pin that was issued to veteran's of the Spanish American war. To be worn on the lapel.

US ARMED FORCES VETERAN LAPEL PIN - In the shape of a cross. Manufacturer marked.



SPANAM VETERANS PIN - Of metal construction. In the shape of a cross. The back is flat while the front displays the images of men. Each arm in the cross has a set of crossed rifles.

1898-1902 SPANISH AMERICAN WAR VETERAN PIN - This is a small veteran's pin which is in the shape of a cross. The center displays the words "Spanish War Veterans"




US CIVIL WAR AND SPANISH AMERICAN WAR MILITARY COLLAR INSIGNIA

The collar insignia employed by the United States armed forces were designed in two formats. Either pin back or screw back. The screw back type required that the shirt had a pre-fabricated hole so the stud could go through. Some of the insignia are marked in the back with the manufacturer's name and/or the material of construction.



SECOND INFANTRY COMPANY COLLAR INSIGNIA - Of metal construction. Crossed rifles with the number "2" placed on top. Pin-back construction.

US ARMY FIFTH COMPANY C COLLAR INSIGNIA - Crossed rifles with a number "5" placed on top and the letter "C" placed on the bottom. Pin-back construction.

US ARMY INFANTRY COLLAR INSIGNIA FOR K COMPANY - Consisting of a set of crossed rifles with the letter "K" placed in the lower section. Pin-back type.



US ARMY SECOND INFANTRY K COMPANY COLLAR INSIGNIA - This is a collar insignia consisting of crossed rifles with the number "2" placed above and the letter "K" below.

US ARMY FIFTH INFANTRY E COMPANY COLLAR INSIGNIA - Crossed rifles with the number "5" placed on top and the letter "E" placed below the rifles. Pin-back construction.

US ARMY 9TH INFANTRY K COMPANY COLLAR INSIGNIA - Of metal construction. The design consists of a set of crossed rifles with the number "9" placed above and the letter "K" below.



US ARMY 20TH INFANTRY DIVISION COLLAR INSIGNIA - Consisting of a pair of crossed rifles with the number "20" placed above the rifles. Screw-back type.

US ARMY 65TH INFANTRY DIVISION M COMPANY COLLAR INSIGNIA - This is a set of crossed rifles with the number "65" placed on top and the letter "M" located below the rifles. Screw back type.

US ARMY 8TH INFANTRY G COMPANY COLLAR INSIGNIA - Crossed rifles with the number "8" placed above and the letter "G" located below the rifles. Screw-back type.



US ARMY INFANTRY COLLAR INSIGNIA - Of metal construction. Consisting of crossed rifles with a pin-back construction. Dark brown color.

US ARMY 13TH INFANTRY I COMPANY COLLAR INSIGNIA - Of metal construction. The number "13" is placed above the crossed rifles. The letter "I" placed below.

US ARMY INFANTRY COLLAR INSIGNIA - Of metal construction. Gold color crossed rifles. Pin-back construction.

US ARMY 8TH ARTILLERY DIVISION COLLAR INSIGNIA - This is a set of crossed cannons with the number "8" placed below. Screw-back construction.

The military hats employed by the United States armed forces during the periods of the Civil War and Spanish American war employed a series of insignia to represent the units for which the soldier was a member.

US ARMY 94TH ARTILLERY HAT INSIGNIA - Of metal construction. the design consists of crossed cannons with the number "94" placed below. Pin back construction.

US ARMY 90TH ARTILLERY DIVISION HAT INSIGNIA - Consisting of a set of crossed canons with the number "90" placed above. Pin-back construction.
