 US Air Force Sateen Shirt -    The Vietnam war saw the begining of a new era in the development of the combat
uniform.  Lighter materials, which were tear resistant and provided better 
ventilation were employed.
 
 The item featured here is a Sateen shirt issued by the US Air Force during the 
Vietnam war.
 
 
   
 
 
The design consists of two pocket construction.  Green plastic buttons are employed to 
close the shirt and the pocket flaps.  An early version of a name tag is placed above
one of the pockets.  Blue background with white letters.  These tags were issued for a 
short time before being replaced by the green tag with black letters.
 the original size tag is still attached to the collar area.  However, it is in poor 
condition.  This is a common occurrance and is caused by normal wear and wash.
