US ARMY 193rd Infantry Tunic 1968 - Vietnam War -
This is a standard issue poplin tunic. Dated 1968. Used by the US Army during
the Vietnam war.
Four pocket construction. With green plastic buttons. The pockets came with
flaps to close them shut. All buttons remained hidden from view once the jacket
was closed. This feature would minimize the number of snags that could occur
when walking in the jungle.
The pockets were angled. This allowed the soldier easier access to the contents
of the pockets when wearing a full combat load bearing system.
The sleeve bears the patch for the 193rd Infantry Brigade.
Two tags were provided. They contain information of value for the collector.
Data found there includes: Manufacturing date, manufacturer's name, material of
construction, color, etc. It was not uncommon for the tags to fall off from
normal wear.
