WWII US Army Early Compass Pouch -
This is a US Army field gear item. Khaki color canvis compass pouch. Two snaps secure the flap shut. Black
ink stamped on the inside of the lid with the manufacturer's name (J.Q.M.D.) and the date production (1942).
This compass design of pouch is harder to find than its OD color counterpart. The design is reminiscent to
that employed by American forces during WWI.
The front of the main lod was often marked with the unit name or number. In other cases, the letters US would
be applied with a black ink stamp. The pouch was attached to the belt using the standard wire hook.
