WWII GERMAN LUFTWAFFE EAGLE -

The Germans employed the image of an eagle in all of their armed forces. This is a WWII German Luftwaffe eagle. Of metal construction. Very light weight. Used in caps, hats and similar devices.

The design consists of an eagle in flight. Wings are fully extended. Flying to the right. The eagle is clutching a swastika with one claw while aiming the second claw forward in an open position. Nice detailing to the plumeage covering the bird.

Two brass prongs assisted in holding the eagle steady when placed on the hat. Very high quality construction. The eagles were usually constructed from zinc or aluminum.
