WWII German RAD leader's Dagger -
The Germany during WWII created an organization desined to acquaint civilians with military service while
at the same time helping with public owrks around the city. Activities such as building roads and bridges
was placed on the RAD. Members were taught how to march and take orders. This would facilitate a natural
transition into the armed forces.
Service in the RAD was mandatory for individuals 18 years old. The compulsory service lasted one year.
The dagger featured here was issued to the leadership of the RAD organization.
The handle is made of White early plastic. Often confused with Ivory. This example shows damage to
one side. The pommel is made in the shape of an eagle head. The blade is Bolo type. Chromed finish.
One side has an inscription. The other side shows the manufacturing logo (WKC).
