German DLV Dagger -
The DLV was a civilian organization who promoted civilian aviation. In reality this organization was the start of the Luftwaffe.
Members who were entitled received the DLV dagger, aslo known as the pilot's knife.
The design of the DLV dagger was very elegant. the handle was made of wood covered with blue leather. Very similar to the type
employed in the Luftwaffe First model dagger. The pommel was silver and consisted of a circle with a stub on top.
The crossguard had a squared center with a black painted swastika. Two sections that simulate wings pointing down extended from
each side of the crossguard. the blade was of double edge construction. No motto was placed on it.

The scabbard consisted of a blue leather cover with a metal throat and tip. The throat had a ring attached to the side where
the dagger hanger attached.
The hanger consisted of a leather strap with a clip at the end.
