1946 US Marine Corps Tropical Helmet - This is a United States Marine Corps helmet. As issued shortly after World War Two for troops deployed in tropical areas where the sun and heat are an issue.





The helmet is of lightweigt design. Hardened cardboard with a cloth cover. Khaki in color. The top has a small round topper with holes to allow for ventilation. Additional metal gromets provide ventilation all around the main body. This is a very lightweight helmet. The inside of the tropical helmet of a dark green color and has a black ink stamp that reads as follows:
