The scabbard consists of two sections of fiberglass sandwhiched together. A metal fitting is placed in the throat area. This helps keep the fiberglass together. The following information is stamped in the metal piece: " NORD-4723, B.M. Co. VP".

The tip of the scabbard has a small circular opening. This allows a leather cord to go through and act as a leg tie.

The blade is single edge with a flat top. The throat section is marked in both sides. One side reads "Camillus, N.Y.", the other side reads "U.S.N. Mark 2".

This edge weapon is currently being reproduced. It is becoming more difficult to be able to tell the fake ones from the real ones because the quality of the reproductions is improving.
